My 50 things!!

My cousin did this on her blog and I thought I would give it a try. I have seen other similar things on other blogs and because I copy what other people do here you go...

- I love my family… They are the ultimate best!!!!
- I love being a mother. When I was younger I thought motherhood was going to be hard, and I have learned it is harder then ever. It is the kind of hard that gives you a sense of accomplishment. Sometimes you hit a wall, but if you push through it is well worth it in the end!!
- I love newborn babies!!!! I have worked in the nursery as a nurse and it’s hard for me to leave. If anyone wanted to find me, you would find me feeding (bottle) the babies. I love to hold them and have them snuggle. I also love it when they are fussy and I can calm them down. I feel like I am a ROCK STAR MOM when I can do that. I have desperately wanted to open my home to newborns transitioning into adoption. I have also wanted to foster newborns while they are also being transitioned. It is hard because for those newborns… a lot of them have drug or alcohol additions. It is extremely hard because they cry a lot!!! When we discovered Tajes needs, we decided to wait for that dream of mine. Maybe I can do it when my kids are a little older.
- I love watching a baby sleep. They are so content and relaxed. Sometimes I wanted to wake them up just so I could put them back to sleep again. They are so cute.
- I love to tickle my kids!!! Sometimes they better watch out because I might just pinch their bums too.
- I love the smell of a newborn baby smothered in Baby Lotion. Taje is almost 4 and I still use baby lotion as hair gel for him. (Try it!!! It works awesome.)
- I love to go boating… Mike likes to motorcycle ride. He just bought two 4-wheelers so I can go along with him. That is okay, but I love boating more.
- I love going to Lake Powell. There is something about water and sun… And after a week on the houseboat, I love the feeling when you come home and still feel like you are on a boat. You body just sways back and forth.
- I love taking my kids swimming. It is great Therapy for Taje. He is still scared of the water but getting better. I love getting a tan too.
- I love seeing kids succeed. In the schools I see a lot of kids struggle. It is fun when you see that they finally get it. Their whole countenance changes and they feel better about themselves too.
- I love my job!!! I love helping and knowing that I am making a difference in some ones life. I used to work as a jeweler. It was fun because I saw so many beautiful rings come through the store and I wanted each and every one of them. I remember thinking that this is not the job for me… I felt that I was not contributing. There are so many people who love that industry of work and that is good for them. But for me, I needed something different so I decided to keep going to college to get my nursing degree.
- I love teaching. This summer I have been able to teach tons of CPR and First Aid Classes. It has been great fun. I also have been able to teach a Certified Nursing Assistant Class. The students I taught have an emphasis for kids… They all work in the special Ed department.
- I love my church calling. I don’t think I am very good at it though. I am called to be the sr. primary chorister. I don’t even know one thing about music. I used to play a little of piano, but I lost that skill a LONG time ago. There is something about music that makes people happy. I feel the spirit every time I go to church. I see the kids singing and it touches me every week. I know the church is true for that simple reason. When the kids sing the sun comes out on the rainiest of days. I love it!!!!
- I love going to Jacey’s Violin lessons with her. When I signed Jacey up for Violin I thought that I wouldn’t be involved as much as I am. Oh NO…. I have to go to every lesson with her and learn, so I can help her each week with her practice. It has helped us bond more and more and I love spending the time with her. Remi is going to start this fall.
- I love Friends. I have been so bless all my life. I have had the best of friends!!! I have lost some friends to illnesses and accidents and those friends will never be forgotten. I have been truly blessed to have them in my life. I hope as my kid’s age, they will understand the importance of good friends and how they can help mold your life. I was very fortunate to have good friends with good standards that helped keep me on the right track. My husband tells me all the time that I am and was naive about the ways of the world with teens. I don’t think I was naive, I think I was blessed!!
- I love to spend time with my family, but I don’t like to camp!!! Okay when I was about 17 years old, my cousin Terrance and my boyfriend scared the stuffing out of me. We were at my family reunion and it was up in the mountains. They told me that Bears can smell a female’s scent and they would come to the smell. Well, since then I have not been camping!!!! Nor will I ever!!!! Mike is trying to talk me into buying a camping trailer. WHY??? Not only are there bears, wolves, mountain lions and other things to eat you… It takes a lot of time to prepare!!! And who do you think does the preparing????? The WIFE!!!!! So my idea of camping is going to a hotel and renting a room and eating room service!!!!
- I love to get my hair done. Yes… I have seen some gray hair!!! So, I color my hair. I am NOT allowing myself to age just yet!!!! I also love getting my upper lip waxed and eye brows. I feel like a new lady. Oh yeah, don’t forget the pedi too.
- I like getting older for the wiser part. I wish sometimes I could be as wise as I am now, when I was a teenager. Sometimes I feel my theme song is “If I can turn back Time.” By Cher. I wonder how wise I will be when I am 90 years old???
- I hate getting older for the… What happened to my body part??? WHY? WHY? WHY?
- I love going to vacations. However, I am extremely scared to fly!!! I have managed a couple of flights. One time Mike took me to San Diego. We flew… I took the window seat to help calm my nerves. (Not a good idea) When we were about to land I saw another plane coming in our direction and almost touch our wing to their wing. While I was watching this, the pilot came on the intercom and apologized for the mistake. I guess the other plane was given directions to be in our flight path. Can you say VOMIT!!!
- I love when families are blessed with a Priesthood Leader in their home. There is so much comfort and security to families, wives, and children when there is priesthood in the home and it is being used righteously.
- I love to decorate my home. I love French country with a little bit of shabby chic. I will be waiting for my own home for a bit. Steve and Linda, my in laws, are leaving on their mission soon. (They told me today that they will be putting in their mission papers soon!!! (Next week) I’m so excited for them!!) Mike and I are going to be taking care of their home when they leave. AND… I am so excited!!! My house in Vernal is under contract today. We are to close on it July 31. I am sad to not have that home anymore, but I feel blessed. We have not had good luck with people renting it. The last guy wanted to do a Lease option to buy, but after he moved into the home, he called me 1 month later and told me he was getting a divorce. Mike and I like that tax benefit, but since Mike is gone 2 weeks out of the month. I found myself taking care of it. Sooo…. I called my trusty Realtor, Cynthia Rees, she sold the Vernal home in 10 days. She sold my Salem home in 10 days too. She Rocks!!! If any of you need a Realtor she is AWESOME!!! And, it doesn’t matter where you live.
- I am saddened by divorce. I am saddened more when kids are involved!!! Everyone knows someone in their life that has had a divorce. I am soooooo Sorry!!!! It is a hard thing to have to go through. I am saddened when kids are put in the middle of term oil. They don’t need that stress. Life is stressful enough.
- My favorite Holiday is July 4th. It is magical. I love the summer time, and the BBQ’s. I’m really not a parade kind of girl though. But, I love watching fire works or having fire works at my home with the kids. They get so excited.
- I love communication!!! My husband thinks I am nuts because all I want to do is talk. I like to talk. I don’t like superficial talk though. It doesn’t get you anywhere. I like the good meaty questions. (The kind of questions that are thought provoking and meaningful.) Mike teases me all the time because every night when I go to bed I start asking my thought provoking meaningful questions. He is NOT a talker!!! He is a sleeper!!! But, I’m changing that!!! We have been married for almost 14 years and he is now just starting to get used to the talking!!! (Yea me!!)
- I love to read!! I never thought I did. When I was in nursing school I never dared read a book that didn’t pertain to nursing because time was of the essence. I love reading because I feel like when you read you turn on a mini T.V. in your head.
- I love to shop…ONLY if it is on sale!!! I am not a shopaholic. But I do like clothes and shoes that don’t wear out in 1 month. My favorite store for my boys and husband is the Quicksilver outlet in Provo. Recently, I went to Dillards to find a new dress. I scored!!! I got a shirt, skirt, and dress for $38.00. WOW huh.
- I love make-up. I will not buy my make-up at Wal-mart. Although, I buy plenty of other things there. I am a Clinique girl!! My husband is so cute too. Every so often you will hear on the radio it is Clinique bonus time. (That is the time when you can go and buy make-up, spend more then 20.00 and they give you free gifts.) My husband will be driving around in the car running errands or something and hear the add on the radio and call me up and let me know when it is. I think that is sweet!!
- I love chewing on ice. I don’t know why, but when I was pregnant with Taje this habit formed. I remember being so hot and not able to move. I was put on bed rest and I would just lie on the couch and chew on ice. When I was put into the hospital I would just chew on ice too. (I’m even chewing on ice right now!!)
- I love doing Laundry. I love washing cloths and getting them out of the dryer and smelling the clean smell. I love it!!
- I love to bake. I have always loved to cook, but when I quit my job at Alpine Pediatrics, the doctors were so wonderful. They gave me a great going away present. MONEY!! With some of the money I paid for a cake decorating class and all of the supplies to decorate with. I learned how to make those pretty roses you see on wedding cakes. Thank you Alpine Pediatric Partners!!! I loved working with you guys!!!
- I love going on dates with my husband or kids. We love going to movies, bowling, really any where fun. When Mike is home we play hard too. The kids miss him so much when he is gone. We make up for lost time and play hard. Mike and I love going to movies. I will not watch scary movies. Mike was being sneaky and took me to see a movie. (The recent one with Will Smith and the scary creatures. I forgot the name.) He secretly new was scary, but didn’t mention to tell me it was. I was about to pop out of my seat. I think I saw the whole movie with my eyes and ears covered. Anyway because of that stunt that he pulled… he was sentenced to 5 chick flicks. And yes he has paid up. AND we have some friends that find it so funny to scare me to death. (I don’t know why?) Every so often they invite us up to their cabin. Mike told Justin about my fears and that I wouldn’t watch a rated R show. Justin said that he would get the movies. When we got up to the Cabin the movie they brought was The Ring. (Can you believe that???) and The Ring isn’t even rated R it’s PG-13. Once again, I saw the whole movie with my eyes and ears covered. At the end of the movie they bet me $100.00 to walk down to the gate 100 yards. (HECK NO!!)
- I love going on overnight trips with my husband. Mike and I like to go up to Park City every so often. It is close enough that we can leave the kids behind and just do something for the two of us. (Me Communication!! Mike Golf)
- I love to do things NOW! I don’t know why, maybe from my growing up years. (Thanks Mom!) Anyway that is one trait that I love!! The other day we had a Migrant Clinic at one of my Elementary schools. (A Migrant Clinic is when mainly the Hispanics come and are seen by the doctors and have physicals and immunizations. We also do Height, Weight, Hemoglobin’s, Dental Varnish, Diabetic checks, and Vision checks) I came to the school to set up and was unloading a lot of the things out of my Expedition. The Principal said he would come and help me. I said okay, but kept unloading. Soon the principal came with a cart and asked where I was parked. I told him that I had finished unloading it. He apologized and said that he is learning that I am a do it know kind of person. I jokingly said, “YEP”, but really meant it.
- I love to see people happy. If I see someone isn’t happy I will try and find out why. Then I will do what ever I can to make that person happy. It hurts my feelings when someone is sad.
- I love that my kids are growing up and hitting new milestones. The other night I was watching Camp Rock with my kids. (The Jonas Brothers are in it.) Sabe saw a girl on the show and he said she was HOT. I was blown away. (Sabe has always liked girls, but has never shown romantic interest in a girl.) I said, “Hot, like the kind of hot that you want to kiss her?” He said, “Mom what other kind of hot is there?” I couldn’t believe my ears so through out the movie I kept asking the same question over and over again, “You really think she is HOT?” He said, “Yes, mom and if you keep asking me I’m never going to tell you what I think again.” I shut up quickly and said, “Sabe, you are my oldest and you are hitting milestones and it’s making me crazy with how fast you are growing up.” He said, “Mom, then I’ve been hitting a lot of milestones.”
- I love making life simple. Life is too short so if there is a way to simplify, I will do it.
- I love going to church and every class that I attend applies to my life’s challenges. Sometimes I feel that the lesson is about me and I love it. It helps me make choices and helps me better understand the importance of things. I love the gospel and I know that if I live the gospel all will be well.
- I love when you go somewhere and you are about to walk into a building and a man runs up and opens the door for you. I think that is very nice and shows great respect.
- I love doing scrapbooks and crafts. I haven’t done any in a while though. My sister Sonja would always come to my home and we would make crafts. Sonja one time brought a pattern on how to make these frogs. I told her I didn’t want to make one, but I would help her with one. Well, I made two, a boy and a girl frog. I thought they were adorable, and I was going to put them in my daughter’s room. Well, I put them in her room, but quickly had to remove them because they scared her. Oh well, right?? We have made holiday crafts, table runners, and all kinds of odds and ends.
- I love my hero’s in my life. I have a lot!! For now I will highlight my DAD, Grandpa Witbeck, and my sister Sonja. My dad I can always call and talk too. He always makes me feel better even when I probably should just shut up and stop complaining. My Grandpa Witbeck is the coolest of all Grandpas’. He had taught me that I can overcome any trial that comes my way. My Grandpa is getting older and will not be with us very much longer. I love the fact that I have had great memories with him in this world. He has overcome many adversities and to me that shows great character!!! Sonja is also the BEST. In the short time that I lived in Vernal I learned that Sonja does ALL!! I have never met anyone so Christ like!!! She is always so willing to help you clean your house, or bring over food when you are sick, or take your kids for a while, or pick up food at the grocery store for you. And she didn’t just do it for me… She does it for everyone. Sonja was a horse 4-H leader. She volunteered herself to run the concessions for a horse event. I became her helper. I realized then… that Sonja will do about anything to help someone out. And she doesn’t complain. Sonja is a great mom! When all the sisters get together we can’t stop talking about how wonderful she is. I remember when we were younger Sonja was not too clean. I remember walking into her bedroom to try and find something and see a green haze fuming over her bed. Also, Sonja would not cook when she was young. One time, she was told that she needed to make dinner. We ended up eating pasta with tuna fish, peas, and olives. The gravy was water and flour only. Times have sure changed. Sonja is a superb cook and keeps a tidy home. Sonja has been so helpful with my home in Vernal. She has gone over weekly and mowed my lawn and kept my flowers watered and the home looking good. She is my true HERO.
- I love flowers. My favorite flower when I was young was the rose. My favorite flower now is tulips. I promised myself that if I didn’t sell my home in Vernal I was going to plant tulips this fall. (I guess that won’t be happening since I sold my house today.)
- I love to garden. I didn’t know I liked to garden, but I do. I have a little spot where I planted tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers and strawberries. I also love to weed the garden. My husband thinks I’m nuts…again.
- I love to mow the lawn. My in-laws have one BIG Lawn and I love it. I love how it looks and how I feel when the lawn is mowed. I love sitting out on the deck and looking at how beautiful everything is.
- I love the cute things kids say and their expressions. Taje is adorable. I know that I am prejudice, but let’s face it he is CUTE!!! This last Friday I took Taje up to Primary Children’s again for more Botox. He is so amazing… I cry just thinking about what he has to do. During the shot process, he screamed and then after it was over he said, “Mom, I’ll be brave.” My eyes swelled with tears. But, everyday he says something to me that makes me laugh. Those sweet moments makes me want to walk around with a Tape recorder so I will always be able to remember the cute words he says. I think all kids from 2-4 years have the cutest things to say. They are so smart!!! I wish so bad that I can have more kids (Mike said no and had a visit with the doctor. He is scared that the next pregnancy I won’t live or maybe he won’t live???)… one reason I want to have more kids is so I can hear the fun innocent things they say.
- I love when people are excited about exercising and I love how I feel after I exercise. But, I love and hate to exercise. I just bought an elliptical and love using it. When I found out about Jacey’s heart condition and then I found out that I have the same heart condition. It made me sad, and scared. I don’t want to die so I don’t exercise but then I know by not exercising it is not good on my heart either. In the end I just need to have faith that all will be well.
- I love learning about the Church. I sometimes feel ignorant and don’t want to ask or answer any questions in my gospel doctrine class. I sometimes feel that if I would have gone on a mission then I would know a lot more answers to the gospel. I sometimes am jealous of those who went on missions because they are so knowledgeable.
- I love my Heavenly Father and I know he loves me
- I love hearing about people I care about. I love knowing they are doing well and are all okay. I love knowing that they have beautiful families and that they are truly happy. I love catching up on old friends and seeing their kids. I am amazed by how much kids look like their parents. It is fun for me to see my girlfriends and say… “They look just like you!”
- I love when my husband surprises me with a kind act or thoughtful gesture. Sometimes we all get going so fast in our lives we forget those closest to us. It makes me feel good when I know that he cares.
