Blessings!!
Okay... Blessings come in the darndest ways!! A lot of you know that my mother had a heart attack. Well I have known for some time that I too have high cholesterol. I decided to go to the doctor to have things checked out because I WAS NOT going to have a heart attack. Well... My MANY doctors appointments didn't go so well. Last week I was diagnosed with Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, increased heart rate, and I am severely anemic. After my labs came in I got a call from the doctor wanting to do IV iron because I was so anemic. I agreed and made the appointment the next day. I had to go over to the county health department for a mandatory sexual harassment meeting the next morning... so I made the appointment for later that day. I had this nagging feeling all day that I needed to cancel my appointment, but I talked myself out of it and decided I needed to take better care of my body and just go. Well...The nurse started the IV and about 20 min into the therapy. I broke out in hives all over my body. I looked like bubble wrap!! I was so anxious I just started to cry. After getting all the fun medications to stop the reaction, I left the office and called my dad. He always makes me feel better!! Anyway a long story short. If my mother hadn't had her heart attack, I would not have gone into the doctor and I wouldn't know all the fun stuff about me right now, that eventually will safe my life. I feel that I have been blessed!!

Oh my heck-I hope you get feeling better soon! Sometimes its so hard to take care of yourself when you are taking care of everyone else! Take care of yourself too! Get better.
Well, I guess thats a good enough excuse to miss book club. I'm totally kidding and am so sorry you have had such a hard week. I agree blessings come in weird ways and while its hard to deal with the news of health problems its always better to know so you can take care of it. We missed you and cant wait to see you for next month! I'm close so dont hesitate to call if you need anything.
You're right...it is a blessing that you found all this stuff out now so you can get well. Get better soon!
Crazy Amber! I hope that you are ok and that you take care of yourself. It is hard. I was diagnosed with Insulin Resistance so I need to take care of myself too! Easy to say, not so easy to do. Take care!
Wow, I am so glad you found out before something really bad happened. Thank heavens for small blessings.

Mel told us you had to have IV iron, but I didn't know it turned into I near death experience! I am glad you survived and hope you are feeling better.
Wow, you are quite amazing with everything you have to deal with. I'm so sorry about the IV! How horrible.
